The hardware division repairs computers and printers that are covered with a warranty and those that are not. Warranty work is done without any charges and out of warranty work is charged for parts only.
Computing assessments are provided for individuals, departments and projects as needed. An IT representative will work closely with the contact to ensure compatibility needs are met. We also work closely with the UTHSC Purchasing Department to negotiate and execute hardware contracts for use by the UTHSC campus.
The Customer Technology Support team will unpack and connect a new computer. They will also install all UTHSC owned software that is necessary to perform the users’ duties.
Desktop Support provides information, diagnostics & repair, and configuration & setup for all desktop hardware & software including network connections and printing.

The Helpdesk is a UTHSC support resource for faculty, staff, students and other affiliates of the university. We investigate and repair technology issues on almost any platform. Submissions for help can be made via a phone call, email, web form or walk in service. The Helpdesk is located in room 602 of Lamar Alexander.
The UTHSC Human Resources department allows ITS 10-12 minutes to give new employees information that will assist them when dealing with technology issues in their office. The Open Access labs are for students to use for printing, general computing, and studying. There are two Open Access labs- GEB B110 and SAC 314. GEB B110 has 9 printers and 50 computers and 2 scanners. SAC has 2 printers and 20 computers. Both rooms have staplers, hole punchers, and paper clips.
There are 3 Testing and Training Labs. GEB B107 has 50 computers and one presenter computer attached to a projector. GEB C109 has 99 computer and no presenter station.
