The Application Development team is involved in the planning, development and implementation of custom software applications within the University. By utilizing a diverse set of tools, web-based applications are developed to support the mission of UTHSC.

Business Analysis identifies business needs and determines solutions to address those needs. The business analysis service is an important part of projects that implement new products and services and improve current processes, and thus, usually are embedded in the project management service.
The hardware division repairs computers and printers that are covered with a warranty and those that are not. Warranty work is done without any charges and out of warranty work is charged for parts only.
Computing assessments are provided for individuals, departments and projects as needed. An IT representative will work closely with the contact to ensure compatibility needs are met. We also work closely with the UTHSC Purchasing Department to negotiate and execute hardware contracts for use by the UTHSC campus.
The Customer Technology Support team deploys a standard, comprehensive image to each Windows and Mac device purchased by the university. The computer is then set up in the customer’s workspace by Customer Technology Support technicians. They will also install any other UTHSC owned software that is necessary to perform the users’ duties.

A VPN (virtual private network) is a tool used to connect securely to the UTHSC network from off-campus in order to access internal resources. Additionally, users on the Eduroam network use VPN to connect to internal resources only available on the UTHSC network.
