Secure File Transfer/Storage – Xythos

Service Description:

UTHSC Xythos is content management software that allows you to place files in a secure central location, for future access via the internet. You can upload, access, and share files from anywhere with any computer that is connected to the internet.  With a Xythos account, you can share your files and folders with anyone at UTHSC or outside of the university.

Xythos offers:

  • An alternative, secure way of sharing files without the use of e-mail attachments
  • Ease of access from anywhere
  • A browser-based, operating system-Independent web interface
  • Flexible, user defined shares to anyone on and off campus
  • Secure file transfers

Xythos provides a collaborative work area for your data. By default, UTHSC’s installation of Xythos provides both secure data transmission and backup for disaster recovery. Xythos is suitable for use with ePHI (or other confidential data), if you follow the Xythos and ePHI Privacy Requirements.

Request a Xythos account:  All UTHSC students, faculty or staff with a valid and active NetID have access to use Xythos.

Xythos training is available through our Application Support Team, which offers face-to-face group sessions, one-on-one sessions, and self-paced online training options. Contact Application Support to request and schedule training, or visit HR 128 Calendar to register for an upcoming class.

Service Levels:
This service is available to UTHSC faculty, staff, and students 24/7 except during planned periods of maintenance and scheduled updates.
